Monadnock Madness Guided Triple Hike Postponed
Are you ready to rock? This March, get out and explore Georgia’s granite giants – Arabia Mountain, Panola Mountain, Stone Mountain and, new to the event, Kennesaw Mountain – during the annual Monadnock Madness. These four major Atlanta-area monadnocks through hikes, workshops, classes and fitness throughout the month. That includes the ever-popular and SOLD OUT Triple Hike Challenge, in which hikers summit three granite mountains in a single day. For the first time, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park will join the event as a special “fourth mountain” option, allowing hikers to gain an extra prize. A celebration of nature, wildlife and some darn big rocks, Monadnock Madness will change how you see Atlanta’s wild places.

The SOLD OUT Guided Triple Hike Tickets allows you to join three guided hikes on three mountains in a single day. Hikers will start their day at Stone Mountain, then hike Arabia Mountain and finish at Panola Mountain. At the end, they will earn a special prize before enjoying s'mores at the base of Panola.

The single-day Triple Hike is about eight miles in total. Participants are expected to bring their own lunch and water and to transport themselves (or carpool) between the mountains. This hike is suitable for hikers 7 years old and older.

Monadnock Madness encompasses dozens of events taking place throughout the month of March. Organized by the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance, Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, Panola Mountain State Park and the Stone Mountain Memorial Association, all events center around the parks’ iconic granite outcrops (monadnocks). For the first time, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park has joined the event as a fourth-mountain hiking option. After completing the other three hikes, participants can hike Kennesaw Mountain for an extra stamp and prize. You can complete the Hike As You Like Triple Hike Challenge by visiting each park on your own and stopping by the Nature Center for a stamp, or by signing up for other events taking place during the month.
